The Rhino Rotor is a versatile 1 kW watt turbine ideal for use with in a variety of applications including:

  • Water pumping
  • Home electricity
  • School electricity
  • Health clinic electricity
  • Hospital electricity
  • Business electricity

The Rhino Rotor is best suited for regions with average wind speeds of 4 m/s and higher, and in those wind regimes it will produce enough power to supply most large homes or schools.

For example, a home in an area with 5 m/s average winds could run the following appliances off of a Rhino Rotor-based system:

  • 1 Solar Fridge (80w) used for 24 hours/day
  • 1 TV (100w) used for 4 hours/day
  • 10 Lights (20w) used for 5 hours/day
  • 1 Radio (20w) used for 5 hours/day
  • 1 DVD Player (30w) used for 4 hours/day
  • 5 Security Lights (20w) used for 8 hours/day
  • 2 Laptops (70w) used for 4 hours/day

Technical Information
Parameter Value
Rated Output 1000 watts output in 12.5 m/s winds
Rated Voltage 24v/48v or custom by special order
Peak Output 1.5kw peaks above wind speeds of 12.5 m/s
Expected Monthly Output 80 – 120 kwh assuming average winds between 4.5 and 6 m/s
Overspeed Protection Furling tail activates at 12.5 m/s winds, which allows the turbine to protect itself from high winds while continuing to produce power
Excess Power Handling When batteries are full, excess power can be usefully diverted to a water or air heater
